About Arley Art
I am Arley Clark. I was born (1947) and raised in Bremerton, Washington.
Throughout my life I have been inspired and motivated by words of wisdom. By a quote or phrase, a song lyric or even an advertising tag line. During my career, motivational or thought-provoking messages were always on display on my office walls. It was frustrating that there was a limited selection of "display worthy" plaques, posters or art prints available in the marketplace. So I had to make my own.
Upon retiring from a management career in the sporting goods industry, I decided to check the market for my kind of motivational art. Thus, ArleyArt was born.
In addition to Bremerton, have lived in Auburn, Seattle, Tacoma and Renton in Washington. Since 1981 I have resided in Springfield, Missouri - the middle of everywhere.
I've had a wide variety of jobs in my lifetime. My first job was working at my Dad's service station. I was eleven. After that I worked as a soda jerk/hamburger flipper at Dairy Queen, stock boy at Hickory Farms, grocery clerk, general helper at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Computer Operator at Keyport Naval Torpedo Station. In 1969, I went to work for the Eddie Bauer company when it was a privately-owned sporting goods company. I started as a night-shift computer operator. Over the course of my Eddie Bauer career I was a computer programmer, systems analyst, Inventory Control Supervisor, Manager of Operations Accounting and Manager of Catalog Call Center & Data Processing Operations. In 1981, I accepted a Director of Operations position with Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. I left Bass Pro in 2002.
For many years I was involved with sports (baseball, football, basketball, bowling) either as a player, or coach.
